There they raised eleven children among whom were Reuben, who at one time taught at Fife's school, then went into the Methodist ministry, and served in British Columbia and Saskatchewan, Annie who married Eben Laing and lived in Norwood,, Nelson whose daughter Mae was Mrs. Lloyd Hess, Gordon who married Edith Fife, and John Wesley.
Adam was a member of the first Board of Trustees of the Methodist church in Hastings, and sometimes led the singing there.
